Centered Healing
I graduated from Greenfield Community College's Stillpoint Program in 2005. After graduating from the 2 year massage therapy program, I opened Centered Healing Therapeutic Massage in Brattleboro VT. I provided pre-adjustment massage therapy for Dr. Marcy Jones' patients at Vt. Chiropractic Orthopedic from 2005 - 2010. I became a Nationally Certified in 2006 and Board Certified in 2014.

Board Certification is the highest voluntary credential attainable to massage therapists and bodyworkers in the profession today. I am a professional member of and fully insured through the American Massage Therapy Association. I served for three years on AMTA's planning committee for the New England Region Conference which brings educational seminars to other massage therapists in New England.
Services
VT continues to be one of four States in the US that does not require Massage Therapists to be licensed, meaning that a massage therapist in VT does not have to have any formal training or carry insurance.
Massage therapists, like myself believe this poses safety concerns to massage consumers and we continue to advocate for mandatory licensing of massage therapy in VT.
My friend and colleague, Chris Widlund sums it up really well in her article below.
I hope you will read it.
This article was written specifically for you, the consumer, so that you can make informed decisions about massage therapy or even take action on this very important issue.
After releasing the superficial fascia with the techniques listed above, it is easier access the deeper layers of muscle.
In these deeper layers, there are often a lot of trigger points that can be effectively released with this type of massage.
Done correctly, this is an incredibly relaxing and effective massage therapy technique.
Its goal is to break the 'pain-spasm-pain' cycle by blocking the neuro-pathway between the muscle and the nervous system, allowing the muscle tissue to reset itself.
I am very privileged to say that I worked with Terye Wohnus, massage therapist, at Vermont Chiropractic Orthopedics for many years.
She is a true professional who meets the patient where he or she is with what is the most appropriate therapy.
She never pushes the patient but guides them through the steps they need to follow to heal.
She is one who always questions how to improve the way to deliver health care.
She is always learning, both new and old ways, of approaching humans and their needs.
Understandably, many people are hesitant to share personal information, but as with any other health care provider, any information you provide on this intake form is strictly confidential.
It is necessary to fill out a health history form because it allows me to provide a massage that is medically safe as there are health issues that are contraindicted to massage or require me to proceed with caution.
I am also required by my licensing board, NCBTMB and my professional association, the AMTA to take a health history before giving massage.
I am happy to answer any questions you have about my rates, my availability and the type of massage therapy that I offer.
You can also get information about my rates and availability on my Book An Appointment page.
If you have never been to Centered Healing Therapeutic Massage please include your telephone number in your email, or call me at 802-251-0015.
