DONNA DAVIS, LMT is nationally Certified and a graduate of Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy since 1994.
ABMP member-licensed in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Founder and owner of Back In Balance since 1994.
Donna is a Jazzercise Instructor, Pilates Instructor and AFAA Certified Personal Trainer.
Donna is also certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists.
She has a diverse background in massage therapy from relaxation to sports massage as well as injury and specialty massages.
Donna's fitness experience is diverse as well, ranging from pre-school age through the senior population, including clients with limitations and restrictions.
A type of massage therapy, deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).
It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Muscle tension in the hamstrings, glutes, IT band, legs, quadriceps, rhomboids, upper back.
Not all of these benefits have been scientifically proven.
But if you are interested in a massage to prevent sports injury, address sport-specific concerns, or to help with muscle recovery after sports, consider getting a deep tissue massage.
