Like many in the alternative healthcare field, I have long had an interest in how the human body works and how to help people be comfortable in it. A 2003 graduate of The Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork, I also attended the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo, Iowa. I have been working steadily as a massage therapist since 2003.

Drawing from my nursing training and gaining hands-on experience and knowledge, I have continually refined my technique. I have been privileged to help many clients to manage pain, reduce stress and improve health over the last fifteen years. I believe the benefits of massage enhance any lifestyle. I believe in the body's ability to rejuvenate and heal itself when in a state of relaxation.

I provide a space where the body and mind can slow down and return to a state of calm. In this atmosphere of quiet, I also provide skills and experience to support the letting go of mental and physical tension. I am a body therapist.

I love it!
I chose the egret because I admire the bird, both standing in the marshlands and in its solitary flight.
Among its many symbolic meanings from different cultures are: Balance between the mind and the emotions, prosperity, longevity, self-reliance, and the ability to progress and evolve.
I think these are noble qualities to strive for, personally and in business, and this bird is here to remind me!.
The tagline also reminds me of these qualities and I seek to infuse them into my business and my work with my clients on a daily basis.
Touch: From the gentle warmth of the heated pad on which one lies, to the firm - yet gentle -strokes of Janet's hands - the most powerful tool she offers that can both soothe, comfort, restore and connect - human to human!
Taste: At the end of the session, a restorative cup of pure, cool water and a citrus flavored Vitamin C!
I have had recurring issues with my low back for years and this is the very best treatment I've ever received for that particular challenge.
Janet also provides lots of little touches as part of her process, including a thorough foot massage and the judicious use of essential oils.
After a short information-gathering chat, I will leave the room and let you GET COMFORTABLE on the WARM MASSAGE TABLE.
THE SOUND OF OCEAN WAVES fills the room, the lighting is low, and the air is infused with a CALMING SCENT to begin the relaxation process.
Every session begins with HOT TOWELS applied to the feet, followed by a super-moisturizing FOOT TREATMENT.
Then I move to the scalp and neck muscles, using GENTLE STRETCHES and TRACTION to help work out tension and knots.
I work my way into the shoulders and upper back, and continue with arms and legs, using several RELAXATION TECHNIQUES, with more SPECIFIC, DEEPER WORK where I find tension.
Helps to ease pregnancy discomfort and provide rest in those later months, helping to relieve muscle and joint pain (particularly helpful during this time when other options are limited.)
Note: Please specify when scheduling so that I can have body pillows and extra support ready when you come in.
This treatment uses pure essential oils on the feet and along the spine, combined with gentle massage to support the body's ability to balance and detoxify.
Excellent way to show appreciation to employees, your favorite service professionals, friends and family.
