At Massage Only, all of our therapists are licensed by the state of Massachusetts and continue their education and training to maintain their professional status. Our therapists are trained in many modalities, including Deep tissue, Orthopedic, Ashiatsu, Myofascial, Cupping, and Swedish massage. She switched gears and careers over 10 years ago and became a licensed Massage Therapist, for both humans and horses!
Barbara specializes in Ashiatsu, Sports, and Orthopedic Massage. Her work is specific, with a focus on muscle and connective tissue repair. She will do deep work, but only if requested, as she has learned many alternate techniques that achieve fantastic results. While her massage is designed to repair and relieve, it is also deeply relaxing. Barbara believes strongly in the body's ability to heal itself, but it takes a present and clear mind to assist in that healing.
Catherine Hermans-McGurren has over 13 years of experience in massage therapy. Along with an extensive list of manual techniques, including but not limited to Deep Tissue Massage, Classic Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Pre/Post Natal Massage, she possesses certifications in advanced massage work including Oncology Massage, Manual Lymphatic Draining, Ashiatsu, Cupping, and Decongestive & Compression Bandaging.
