As a licensed physical therapist, licensed massage therapist, and certified yoga instructor, my aim is to reduce stress, pain, and tension in the body/mind to guide you back to a state of optimal health and wellness. With over 20 years of experience in healing modalities, my specialties include a variety of gentle manual techniques with a current focus on John Barnes Myofascial Release.
I am trained in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy, Swedish relaxation massage, medical intuition, a variety of therapeutic massage techniques, Positional Release Therapy, and medical massage for the neck and back. Massage and manual therapies help with a wide variety of conditions including, but not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression, motor vehicle accidents, TMJ, headaches, whiplash, neck pain, back pain, bulging discs, and sciatica.
Whenever there is restriction, injury, or imbalance in the body/mind, this can affect not only the area of restriction, but also the system as a whole. In a safe, soothing, healing environment, I assist in releasing these blocks through gentle, effective, manual techniques, inviting the body's innate healing abilities to bring you back to balance.

Customized massage includes therapeutic and Swedish massage techniques to reduce pain, tension, and relieve stress on all levels.
I use a combination of methods to address muscles, fascia, and tendons to specifically target areas of pain, restriction, and/or dysfunction.
Additional techniques may be utilized including soft tissue mobilization, acupressure, medical massage, muscle energy technique (MET), and positional release therapy which combines gentle stretching with Jones Strain/Counter Strain during which joints are passively put into a particular position of comfort that allows for interruption of a strain reflex or inappropriate nerve activity.

I have been seeing Lori for massage and Myofascial release for almost two years now.
I initially came in with chronic low back pain and tight muscles along my spine and neck.
Every visit, Lori made me feel so well cared for and masterfully decreased my symptoms.
Since I started seeing her, I've experienced a huge shift in my mind-body connection.
I believe that her help in calming down my back pain was instrumental in me beginning to live inside my body, not just my head, and was an impetus for taking ownership of my physical state through exercise and movement.

Placing a wedge on your chair and/or car seat naturally aligns your back, creating the natural curve of your lumbar spine and stacking your shoulders and head over your hips.

It can also be used to relive tension in other areas of the spine.
