I began my journey in the healing arts in 1997 at the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts in Santa Fe. Several years later, while living in Maryland, I was introduced to the Japanese system of energy healing, Usui Reiki. I developed an eclectic style of healing utilizing Swedish and deep tissue massage, Reiki, and aromatherapy. I have provided healing sessions for asylum seekers who were torture survivors through the nonprofit Advocates for Survivors of Torture and Trauma.
As a result of my passion for working with this group of courageous people, I developed a training program for massage therapists to learn to treat clients who have experienced trauma and may not speak English and are acculturated differently. I am a nurturer at heart and I have accompanied many as they transition through the small events of life as well as the major milestones.
Through my own healing and grief I have embraced the life-changing gift of compassion and deep listening. I bring these gifts to my clients and I delight in seeing them discover their own ability to heal.
