Through bodywork and massage, this is achieved by bringing awareness to areas of tension and habitual body patterns. How does the pain sensation you are feeling relate to the way you sit/stand/walk? Is it connected to how you hold your body in certain situations? Or possibly scar tissue/adhesions from an old injury? I have been passionate about the power of healing touch since I was young.
In my family, we were often exchanging back rubs or foot rubs. After many years of traveling and working seasonally, the choice to settle down and go to massage school was easy and full of joy. I studied massage therapy at an incredible school in Salt Lake City called Myotherapy College of Utah. I feel lucky to have received such an outstanding education but, like many in this profession will tell you, the learning never stops.
There are many new modalities I hope to add to the list soon. Living in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, I love to be outside as much as possible. I am an avid hiker and runner, newbie gardener, and practice mindfulness meditation daily.
