The Alliance is required to hold a business meeting annually.
Previous to 2014, their business meeting took place during the yearly Alliance Conference.
In 2013 they made the decision to forgo a 2014 Conference to prepare for the 2015 Biennial Educational Congress.
Therefore the annual business meeting for 2018 was held online.
This is most cost effective for members to participate in the comfort of their surroundings without having to travel.
The online meeting agenda includes the same items as the live meetings.

We are the Leadership Development Committee (LDC), writing to call your attention to the Alliance's 2021 election.
The election will occur online rather than from the floor of the congress, as there is no in-person congress this year.
In 2022, the election will again be face-to-face at the Biennial Educational Congress in Austin.
We communicated in a previous email that there were two Board vacancies for which no current director is re-applying.
One is for a newly created seat on the Board; the other seat was filled by Randy Clark who has recently stepped down from his position.

The LDC is comprised of 5 members elected by the membership.
Works to cultivate and recruit committee members and serves as the nomination committee by recruiting, interviewing, and recommending a slate of candidates to serve as Board Members.
I find the task of helping match talented people to the Alliance's evolving Board and committee needs challenging and fun.
Of necessity the LDC's job includes helping identify and evaluate those organizational needs before addressing them, which is a keen interest of mine.
