The African Massage course work is designed for licensed massage therapists of all skill and experience levels who are interested in adding additional specialized massage techniques to their practices. As part of our personal approach to teaching, we work with small groups of students so your individual needs are met and our clear, simple teaching style and supportive environment enables you to get the most from your learning.
Please note that most of our courses require that you are a licensed massage therapist. We offer several different types of massage therapies which allow the therapist to alter and gear each treatment specifically for the situation and each client. When a person is confronted by an array of colours like a set of coloured oils, or even a rack of clothes, they're immediately drawn to the colours in their own auric field.
So through the filter of your own energy field you choose the colours you are. My mission is to teach this unique therapeutic style of bodywork called African Massage-ENERGY in MOTION.

I have been a Reflexology practitioner since 1986 and a Massage Therapy practitioner since 1992.
I have always held my own practice and in 1997 I opened and ran The Center for Health, Education, Communication and Development in which I taught a 500 hour Deep Tissue Therapeutic Sports Massage course, which was accredited by the Massage Association of South Africa.
Whilst running the massage courses, I averaged approximately 20 hours a week massaging clients as well as holding classes evenings and weekends.

African Bonga Massage makes use of bonga sticks to apply rhythmic tapotement to various sections of the body.
Tapotement is the rapid, percussive tapping, slapping and cupping of the massaged area.
It is used to more aggressively work and strengthen muscles during deep tissue massage.
It increases local blood circulation and can even help tone muscle areas.
In pre-event massage tapotement is used to invigorate the muscles and is a great way to revitalize the nervous system after an intense healing session.

The Rungu Stick is a baton shaped wooden stick or club.
It is called a knobkerrie in some African countries and originates from the Massai tribe in East Africa.
The smooth texture, heavy look and feel, as well as the varying shapes of the rungu are combined to offer an exceptional massage with deep pressure and a variety of strokes.
Rungu stick massage promotes blood circulation, sensory nerve perception improvement, and lymph drainage.
Rungu massage can be light, relaxing, and therefore stimulate lymph drainage and relaxation as well as sensory nerve stimulation.
