Services
Massage sessions can have a tremendous impact on your health.
Massages help relieve acute or chronic pain, improve circulation, extend joints motion, prevent muscular tension and shorten injury rehabilitation.
Massages are also renowed for improving emotional health by reducing stress, negative mood, depression and anxiety.
Massages lower stress hormones and increase serotonin levels, thereby affecting behavioral patterns.
Based on their knowledge in physiology and anatomy, our licensed therapits combine traditional and modern techniques to offer many types of massages that improve our clients' wellbeing and resilience.
Improve your health and posture by strengthening your muscles and increasing your body's flexibility.
Vinyasa Flow takes dynamic yoga to a deeper level by integrating rhythmic breathing with conscious movement.
As in all physical yoga, you will increase strength and flexibility - and by uniting body and breath, you'll learn to move from moment to moment with absolute awareness.
Based on Baron Baptist's series as well as a variety of other style of yoga including ashtanga and Bikram, this is a dynamic flowing sequence built around sun salutations.
At Healthways we teach a variety of vinyasa styles of yoga including Baptiste, Bikram and Ashtanga.
Many of our classes are taught in a heated environment.
We occasionally get asked what the heat is all about, so we wanted to take a moment to share the philosophy and also some of the specifics of practicing yoga in a heated room.
There are a lot of reasons why we choose to practice yoga in a heated room.
The heat helps our bodies warm up (sort of like stretching before running) and makes it easier to get deeper into postures more safely.
I hear it all the time.
People tell me that one reason they are apprehensive about starting yoga is because they are not very flexible.
But let me ask you this: If you were beginning a language course, perhaps learning to speak Spanish, would the teacher expect you to already know how to speak this beautiful language?
I don't think so.
We expect you to come just as tight as you are and we can show you splendid ways to open.
Our Slow Flow classes may be perfect for you.
We will teach you how to breathe in ways that will help you find immediate relief and openness of body, mind and spirit.
Thank you for a most helpful yoga class yesterday - it was a lifesaver for whatever's going on w/my lower back.
There's always something from your teaching (whether a physical &/or mental posture) that's a perfect compliment to my daily wake-up yoga to keep it from being too "routine".
I feel very fortunate to be a student in your classes as you have so much to offer.
Just wanted to let you know how great a day I had yesterday at Healthways.
I really enjoyed each of the yoga classes.
The breath connection was simply awesome, really an experiential eye opening for me.
