Hello, My name is Alishia, and I am the owner of Seaside Massage and Spa. I was inspired to begin practicing massage because I truly believe in the healing capabilities that massage has to offer. My path led me to becoming a LMT when I was injured in a car accident. I had been left with residual chronic pain, numbness, and headaches. I had no "real" answers at 25 years old.
I just wanted to get back to normal without the use of medications that left me feeling unmotivated and nauseated most of the time. I was introduced to massage by a friend away at a wellness retreat. I was suffering from a headache and she offered to massage my head, neck, and shoulders.

This style of massage is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue.
Deep Tissue uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish but the pressure will generally be greater.
You should always feel free to speak up if the pressure is too much for you.
If the pressure is more than you can comfortably take, you might unconsciously tense up, guarding your body from pain.
This makes it harder for the therapist to achieve results.
This style involves long flowing movements to promote full body relaxation.
